When planning your wedding or special event, it is important to check to see when different events are going on in the area.
You may decide to plan your wedding when events are going on in the area so your quests can plan to stay after the wedding to attend some of those events.
If you plan to get married on a popular weekend (for example, college graduations or a Nascar race or other large event in your area), your out-of-town guests may find it difficult to find lodging unless they make their reservations way in advance.
If your wedding is going to be on a popular weekend, you should send out Save the Date cards and reserve a block of rooms for your out of town guests and include that information on the card.
